What is the Dutching Horse Racing System?
Dutching is a term you might have heard thrown around in horse racing circles without really knowing what it means. Or you might have already used the horse racing dutching system without even knowing it! Although dutching, also known as dutch betting, has been a popular form of betting in the industry for many decades, there are many avid horse race betting enthusiasts who are still unsure of its meaning and provenance. Here, we'll take a quick look at what the dutching horse racing system is, how it can be beneficial to bettors, and provide you with a handy dutch calculator.
The History of Dutch Betting
Even though horse racing is popular around the world, Dutch betting is thought to have originated in the United States. The name is believed to have derived from Al Capon's personal accountant whose nickname was Dutch Schultz. In an attempt to gain an advantage over other bettors, he would implement the strategy that would eventually become well-known as the horse racing dutching system. The dutching horse racing system is now a popular form of betting that people use to try and gain more winnings. To be sure, dutch betting is also used in other forms of betting, as well.
How the Horse Racing Dutching System Works
With dutching, bettors back several horses within the same race instead of only one. As with all horse race betting strategies, it comes with some upsides and downsides. You can lose all of your money if both (or more) horses end up losing. However, this method might help limit the amount of money lost if you make the bet properly–and you increase your chances of winning by avoiding the proverbial eggs in one basket.
